The above quote sums up the very essence of the new HSNC University! June 2020. A historical moment unfolding in the field of Education as the H(S)NC Board launches HR, KC and BTTC on the next level of development by constituting them into a Cluster University – called the “HSNC Mumbai University”.

HSNC University, Mumbai, is constituted under sub-section (6) of section 3 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 (Mah. VI of 2017), the Government of Maharashtra vide notification no. Rusayo-2019/CR-186/UE-3 dated 30th October 2019 in the official gazette as a Cluster University comprising a cluster of the existing - HR College of Commerce and Economics, Churchgate, Mumbai as the lead college and Kishinchand Chellaram College, Churchgate, Mumbai and Bombay Teachers’ Training College, Colaba, Mumbai as the constituent colleges with H(S)NC Board as its parent body.

The KC College being multidisciplinary college facilitates, incorporates, & encourages distinct discourses of learning community of students with specific vocabularies, styles, and modes of communication in subjects Economics, English, Films, Television and New Media Production, Hindi, History, Multi-Media & Mass Communication, Psychology & Sociology.

Education

Teacher Education is an interdisciplinary subject embedded with subjects of all the disciplines. The comprehensive and robust teacher education programmes offered by Bombay Teachers’ Training College, popularly known as a centre of excellence in teacher education facilitates teacher training & education from KG to PG and Research. The rigour of the programmes is blended with core competencies of digital pedagogies, internships and practice teaching and multicultural set up with University in Diversity.

Performing Arts

The School of performing arts offers Bachelor’s programme in Performing Arts, focused on practice-based (with the rigour of actual performance) blended with core theoretical academic inputs, infused with practical work having underpinning of the philosophical background of the subject. Pedagogical interventions and delivery approaches have been designed through a mix of practical workshops, experiential learning, virtual interventions, internships and field-based experiences.

Commerce

Apart from offering Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, the constituent colleges offer a wide range of Accounting & Finance (BAF), Banking & Insurance (BBI), Business Analytics Commerce, Financial Market (BFM), Management Studies (BMS), B. Voc in Retail Management & B. Voc in Tourism & Hospitality Management programmes & subjects of Business disciplines. Theoretical courses of these programmes have a blend of hands-on experiences coupled with industry internships, field-based experiences empower students with enterprising components having a skill set that matches current market job requirements.

Yoga

The School of Yoga & Allied Sciences offers Bachelor’s programme in Yoga with a purpose to prepare yogic practitioners with abilities to train human persona with an equilibrium of Mind, Body and Soul. Kaivalyadham, a Yoga institute, the knowledge partner of HSNC Board, with its expertise will provide the practical knowledge and internships experiences to hone the yogic practices to stimulate the healthy body with mind and soul.
