HSNC University, Mumbai is a culmination of three prestigious colleges of Hyderabad Sind Collegiate Board. The HSNC Board have a legacy of more than 70 years in the field of education with 23 educational institutions continuously serving the community by providing quality education, from school education to higher education.
These constituent colleges offer multidisciplinary programmes spanning across Arts, Science, Commerce Education, Mass Media, Management and Information Technology. These institutions offer Undergraduate, Postgraduate as well as PhD programs blended with proactive social awareness units such as NSS, Adult Education Extension and Rotaract Club. The social endeavours of these constituent colleges are recipients of recognition at University, State, National and International levels.
The program emphasizes both theory and modern applications of Data Science and Business analytics. It is structured to provide knowledge and skills necessary for students' employability in industry, academics, and other government and non-government organizations. The program has some unique features like independent projects, several elective courses and extensive computer training in statistical computations, including standard software packages like C++, SQL, SPSS, SAS, MINITAB, R and PYTHON etc. Due to Cluster University, the department got the academic autonomy, and it has been utilized to add the new and need-based elective courses. The independent project work is one of the essential components of this program. The syllabus has been framed to possess a decent balance of theory, methods and applications of statistics. The students can study introductory courses from other disciplines like economics, life sciences, computer science and Information Technology in place of optional/electives. The thrust of the course is to prepare students to enter into a promising career after graduation and provide them with a platform for pursuing higher studies resulting in post-graduation degrees.

HSNC University, Mumbai, is constituted under sub-section (6) of section 3 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 (Mah. VI of 2017), the Government of Maharashtra vide notification no. Rusayo-2019/CR-186/UE-3 dated 30th October 2019 in the official gazette as a Cluster University comprising a cluster of the existing - HR College of Commerce and Economics, Churchgate, Mumbai as the lead college and Kishinchand Chellaram College, Churchgate, Mumbai and Bombay Teachers’ Training College, Colaba, Mumbai as the constituent colleges with H(S)NC Board as its parent body.
H. R. College, K. C. College and Bombay Teachers’ Training College, A Grade Colleges as per NAAC accreditation, located strategically in South Mumbai, are eminent institutions of the Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate Board, with national and global recognition. They are today acknowledged as role models to other institutions of the Board and the University of Mumbai, by virtue of their innovative academic, cultural, research, and outreach programmes. The three Colleges have stood up to the challenges of keeping their curriculum dynamic by consistently introducing comprehensive approaches to teaching, learning and research. The idea of the Cluster University was a radical initiative by RUSA, Rashtriya Uchater Shikshan Abhyan, (an apex body under the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India, and the Government of Maharashtra), in the pursuit to overcome the lacunae in the existing University system. The Cluster University also aims at opening up curriculum reforms and bringing in greater autonomy in the designing of syllabi to make them contemporary, multi-disciplinary and in tune with the highest global standards.

A buffet approach to courses; multi-disciplinary in approach and technology-based education i.e. EDUCATION 4.0 is what students enrolling with the HSNC University are heading for.
